The Youth Engagement Coordinator WIOA - Out of School serves young adults ages 14 to 24 who are disconnected from work and/or school in accordance with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Acts (WIOA) program objectives. The purpose of this program is to reconnect youth and young adults to educational opportunities, employment, and community, with a focus on addressing the socio and psychological barriers through counseling, case management, and life coaching.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or equivalency
Punctuality
Proven ability to build relationships and trust quickly
Experience working with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule when necessary
Prior experience working with opportunity or at-risk youth, including knowledge of the Seattle Public School System
Valid WA State Drivers License
ULMS Total Compensation ** Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period
