Job Description:

The OB/GYN Clinical Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the OB/GYN department's nursing staff. This role involves coordinating nursing efforts to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while upholding established standards and protocols. The Clinical Unit Manager provides leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff, fosters a collaborative work environment, and assists in administrative and executive duties related to departmental operations.

Administrative / Executive Duties:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to nursing staff within the OB/GYN department.
  • Ensure that nursing staff receives appropriate training and support for their roles.
  • Collaborate with departmental management to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services aimed at improving patient care and departmental efficiency.
  • Work with site administrator to schedule adequate nursing staff to meet patient care needs.
  • Assess staffing requirements for the unit and participate in the hiring process in collaboration with the director of nursing and site administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that patient needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare and administer immunizations, medications, and treatments as directed by OB/GYN physicians.
  • Supervise Medical Assistants and Registered Nurses (RNs) within the department.
  • Promote a productive and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  • Assist Medical Assistants as needed in providing patient care and support.
  • Assess and manage the supply needs of the unit, including medications, equipment, and immunizations.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred qualification: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license and experience in OB/GYN clinical settings.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a Medical Assistant certification and 5 years of managerial clinical experience in OB/GYN settings will be considered.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and upholding professional standards of practice in OB/GYN nursing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
