Located in the suburbs of Metro-Detroit, our 65 year-year-old church is still innovating to reach the next generations. This opportunity provides you with the chance to build upon and grow our already healthy young adults program. The Director of Young Adults works to create and develop a community of believers within the church. The role focuses on recruiting, developing, and encouraging young adults (18-29) looking to grow in their faith and church involvement. As this position flourishes, this position description will change. Responsibilities
Coordinate, develop, and execute ministry plans for young adults, including but not limited to small groups, large group events, social events, and retreats.
Develop and recruit young adults leaders to help with the ministry.
Manage a team of both older adult and young adult leaders.
Lead weekly small group meetings as needed.
Oversee monthly worship nights and teach when necessary.
Cultivate and foster the growth of young adults in a way that aligns with the church's larger mission and discipleship vision.

Reports to: Director of Ward Families Employment Status: Part-time, hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Date Updated: April 25, 2024
Education: Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience in large local church ministry preferred. Recent interactions with young adults. Administration and experience dealing with coordinating large groups. Demonstrated ability to teach with power and clarity and to work collaboratively with peers.
Requirements: Affirmation of the mission, values, and beliefs of Ward Church.
Skills/Gifts: Leadership, strategic planning, team player, proactive self-starter, administration and organization, ability to interact with young adults in meaningful experiences.
