Service Sanitation is Hiring a Diesel Mechanic (GDM) Near Gary, IN
Job ResponsibilitiesJob responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
- Running diagnostic test on diesel engines and analyzing results for repair.
- Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, and exhausts.
- Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
- Performing preventative maintenance of SSI vehicles.
- Vehicle wiring and reading wiring schematics.
- Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
- Deliver, pick up, and repair vehicles from our at satellite branches.
- Maintaining records of parts inventory and other serviced vehicles.
- Rebuild pumps and vacuum systems.
- Welding and fabrication as needed.
- 3 years diesel mechanic experience
- Experience with diagnostic software with computer
- Knowledge of diesel engine components
- Insurable driving record
- Must own full set of mechanic tools
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Troubleshooting skills
- Organizational and Multitasking skills
- Proficiency with DPF, EGR and DEF, preferred
