We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced plumbing professional to join our team as a Plumbing Trainer. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive training and instruction to individuals seeking to enter the plumbing profession or to further develop their skills in the field. The Plumbing Trainer will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging training programs that cover both theoretical concepts and practical hands-on techniques.
Develop curriculum and training materials covering a range of plumbing topics, including but not limited to piping systems, fixture installation, drainage systems, and plumbing codes and regulations.
Deliver classroom lectures, demonstrations, and practical training sessions to individuals or groups of aspiring plumbers.
Provide guidance and mentorship to trainees, offering feedback and assistance to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
Organize and oversee hands-on workshops in a simulated plumbing environment, ensuring a safe and productive learning experience.
Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and changes to plumbing codes and regulations, incorporating relevant information into training programs.
Collaborate with other trainers or professionals in the plumbing industry to enhance training effectiveness and share best practices.
Assist in the development and implementation of assessment methods to evaluate trainee progress and proficiency.
Maintain training facilities, equipment, and materials to ensure they are in good working condition and conducive to learning.
Provide support and guidance to trainees as they transition into the workforce, including assistance with job placement or apprenticeship opportunities.
What you need for this position:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a licensed plumber or in a related plumbing field.
Proficient knowledge of plumbing principles, techniques, materials, and tools.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to individuals with varying levels of experience.
Experience in teaching, training, or mentoring others in a professional setting.
Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others succeed in their plumbing careers.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in plumbing and/or teaching/training (e.g., journeyman plumber license, vocational training certificate) preferred.
