(BVTI) is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) who is looking to identify a motivated and customer-oriented Linux Administrator to join our high-caliber team supporting our federal customer in the Intelligence Community. The work is challenging and offers an environment that is filled with great opportunities and for professional growth. This high-profile, long-term contract lends support to the technical environment required to securely support the customer's needs in the acquisition process. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance the integrity, security, and performance of our Linux operating system. The ideal candidate will install, configure, and update Linux systems and software, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the system is secure, reliable, and efficient. They will possess strong problem-solving skills and draw upon an in-depth knowledge of Linux commands, shell scripting, networking, and system administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and applications.
- Design and implement Linux-based solutions for various business needs.
- Provide comprehensive Unix, Linux, or Windows systems administration and operations.
- Develop and maintain scripts using the programming languages Bash, Python, Perl, Ansible and Kickstart.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure proper system integration and functionality.
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary updates and upgrades.
- Ensure system security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist users and systems engineers with the setup, installation, and testing of their applications.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
Preferred Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification.
- 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Red Hat servers and workstations.
- Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
- Scripting Experience: Bash, Python, Perl, Ansible and Kickstart.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Any of the following certifications would be a plus:
- CompTIA Linux Certification
- CompTIA Security Certification
- CompTIA Network Certification
- CompTIA A Certification
