Job Summary:
The Vice President for strategy and DEIB is responsible for leading the organization's strategic planning efforts while championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. This will be instrumental in shaping our long-term vision, fostering an inclusive workplace culture, and driving positive change both internally and externally.
Job Responsibilities
The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibilities required of this position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills. Strategy Management
  • Leads strategic planning process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market opportunities; drives the strategy management process at all levels of the organization.
  • Maintains responsibility for translating business strategy into an integrated program plan,
  • Influences and provides thoughtful leadership to a team of people leaders responsible for the end-to-end program life cycle to include, negotiating trade-offs, timely execution, and successful implementation and value achievement.
  • Drives leadership in the planning, design and implementation of innovative business solutions by defining vision, strategies, and tactics to address market shifts in order to optimize the bank’s competitive position.
  • Conducts comprehensive market analysis and environmental scanning to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Performs primary and secondary research and makes recommendations based on emerging trends, driven threats, business process improvement, and opportunities.
  • Owns governance process to track strategic issues, monitor progress, and drive alignment across all levels of the organization.
  • Conducts business strategy reviews to assess progress and drive awareness to leaders of strategy achievement.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB):
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive DEIB strategy aligned with our mission and values.
  • Builds partnerships with external organizations, community groups, and industry networks to advance DEIB goals and initiatives.
  • Oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of DEIB programs and initiatives, fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to integrate DEIB principles into decision-making processes, policies, and practices.
  • Fosters a culture of inclusion and belonging by creating opportunities for open dialogue, feedback, and engagement across all levels of the organization.
  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of DEIB initiatives and regularly report progress to senior leadership.
  • Engages with key stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and initiative leaders, to collect feedback and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Builds partnerships with external organizations, community groups, and industry networks to advance DEIB goals and initiatives.
Finance and Budget Planning:
  • Works closely with the Finance department to conduct forecasts and ensure adequate resource allocation for strategic initiatives.
  • Monitors and manages budgets to ensure initiatives remain on track and within scope.
Required Qualifications
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in strategic management or organizational effectiveness.
  • Minimum 5 years of focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Minimum of 8 years of financial services management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic plans in a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to our organization's mission, values, and DEIB principles.
Work Environment
Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions.
  • Remote work environment with the utilization of on-line technology, including various computer programs and systems.
