Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union seeks a dedicated and experienced Special Educator: Autism to join our team! In this position, the Special Educator: Autism will develop and implement educational programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Grades K-6 at The Dorset School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, and expertise in developing personalized programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a terrific opportunity for a teacher with an interest and passion for educating this incredible population of students.
Applicants are expected to know current instructional research and evidence-based instructional practices for servicing students with Autism and should be comfortable providing specialized programming in a pull-out setting, as well as collaborating with other professionals in an inclusive setting. Strong candidates will demonstrate a student-centered approach, exemplary oral and written communication skills, strong relationship building skills with students, and a commitment to working collaboratively with all colleagues.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree Demonstrated skill and experience in working with students with disabilities is required Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsement Copies of transcripts and license(s) must be uploaded to the application for all licensed positions. Successful applicants to Licensed positions will be required to provide official transcripts to Human Resources before completion of the hiring process. Preferences: VT AOE Licensure as a Special Educator Current certification in CPI or other crisis intervention program Experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Experience with individuals with significant challenging behaviors
