In this role, you'll work closely with our HR Generalist, providing essential support across various HR functions including recruiting, pre-hire processes, new hire onboarding, file maintenance, compliance, and employee engagement.

Part-time, Monday – Thursday

Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Salary: $19.00 - $23.00/hour

Responsibilities

Recruiting & Pre-Hire

- Generate and obtain approvals for all staffing requisitions.- Post open positions through our Applicant Tracking System.- Update the applicant life cycle in iCIMS, manage the requisition log, and close filled positions.- Assist with screening applicants, conducting telephone interviews, and setting in-person interviews with candidates and managers.- Conduct verbal offers, generate offer letters, and manage them through DocuSign.- Administer background checks (previous employment, DMV, criminal, etc.) and post-offer physicals and drug tests.- Send welcome emails and new hire packets, and submit IT new hire requests to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

New Hires/Onboarding/Orientation- Assist with onboarding of new hires, ensuring all paperwork is completed and entered into ADP Workforce Now. Enter new hire information in ADP, complete I-9 forms with new hires, including E-Verify.- Conduct new hire orientation presentations to introduce new employees to our company.- Ensure new hires receive proper company equipment and are added to relevant systems and distribution lists.

Terminations- Assist in the termination process and conduct exit interviews to gather feedback.

Benefits- Assist with benefit enrollment meetings for new hires (one month before the effective date of insurance plans).

Employee File Maintenance- Maintain personnel and benefits files, ensuring accuracy and order.- Verify completion and compliance of I-9 files and update employee profiles in ADP for statutory compliance.

Other HR Duties- Assist in organizing company events like breakfasts, luncheons, and holiday parties to build a vibrant company culture.- Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR team.

Qualifications

  • Education: Pursuit of a BA Degree in Human Resources is desired.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in an administrative support role.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Being detail-oriented is essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Initiative: Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and unbiasedly at all organizational levels.
  • Document Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient in Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and climb stairs as required by company site to perform daily work duties such as safety inspections, training, HRIS updates, etc.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to see and hear (with or without corrective devices) in a manner which will allow the employee to perform the essential functions in a safe and proficient manner.

Compensation and Benefits

Part-time, Monday – Thursday

Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Salary: $19.00 - $23.00/hour
