Summary

The Human Resources Specialist is a part of the district office of Georgia Cyber Academy. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Specialist is responsible for delivering excellent customer service to all school employees. This position requires a strong background in Infinite Campus (employee side), CPI and certifications through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

A successful Human Resources Specialist will be highly organized, works with a sense of urgency, has excellent customer service skills, builds strong relationships, and is motivated by the mission of Georgia Cyber Academy. The Human Resources Specialist is located in the GCA district office and may require travel to off-site events and trainings. This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Updates and maintains all employee in Infinite Campus – new hires, internal transfers and terminations.
  • Reviews teaching and clearance certificates and submits renewals, as required. Requests waivers through the GaPSC as needed and works with employees who may need assistance with certification matters.
  • Conducts annual certification audits to ensure all employees hold the proper certification.
  • Run and review out-of-field report monthly. Communicates with Principals to resolve discrepancies and determine whether or not 20-day letters are required.
  • May assist with onboarding new hires to include processing all requests to hire (RTH) – offer letters, employment contracts, sends new hire paperwork, enters all new hires in the HRIS and process I-9 verification.
  • Reviews background checks daily to ensure compliance with GCA standards.
  • Assists with the off boarding of employees.
  • Participates in developing organizational/departmental processes and procedures.
  • Assists with all internal and external Human Resources related matters.
  • Assists with annual open enrollment for benefits.
  • Assists with employee training and development initiatives.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; regularly reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Promotes HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  • Assists with employee engagement by recommending strategies to motivate employees.
  • Attends meetings, conferences and trainings as determined by the Director of Human Resources.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field of study;
  • Three (3) or more years working in a high-volume record review and processing capacity;
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a in a K-12 school setting with a strong background in Infinite Campus and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission;
