Who YOU are:

  • The Vice President of Consumer Operations (VPCO) ensures lending policies and procedures best serve the credit union and its members by managing the day-to-day operations of the Consumer Lending and Collections Departments. 
  • While ensuring compliance with state, federal and regulatory laws, the VPCO oversees the member experience throughout the application, underwriting, loan origination, collection, loss mitigation and charge-off efforts. 
  • This role monitors and analyzes economic conditions affecting the consumer loan products and recommends appropriate changes and / or actions based on identified trends or impacts. This candidate must demonstrate proven experience in Fintech-Digital adoption in all aspects of the lending and collection channel impression. 
  • The VPCO will partner with Lending Systems on the optimization of lending application, processing, and underwriting workflows to achieve maximized efficiency and streamlined processes.

What YOU’LL do:

  • Responsible for planning and execution of annual and long term strategic / tactical operating plans for consumer lending products/services/originations and collections processes.
  • Oversee the entire consumer loan origination life cycle including and not limited to pricing, underwriting, documentation, and funding within all credit tiers, which meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to the company within acceptable risk tolerance. 
  • Ensure departmental accordance with defined lending authorities to approve, decline, or counteroffer loan applications. Maintains compliance with company standards and practices to lend within state and federal regulations. Ensures a competent and motivated staff through hiring, training, managing, and performance management of direct and indirect employees.
  • Oversee and coordinate the collection team on charge-off and loss mitigation functions to maintain a financially sound loan portfolio through delinquency control of all residential mortgage loans, private student loans, secured and unsecured loans / lines of credit. 
  • Directs foreclosure activities when required, renders assistance to legal counsel and secondary market investors in foreclosure or loss mitigation actions. Is responsible for liquidation, maintenance, and sale of REO’s.
  • Ensure that staff in each area of oversight obtain the appropriate internal and external training to support the objectives of the credit union.
