In this role, you will interact with educators in schools and libraries as well as business leaders and organizations that share our vision.

We are looking for a highly motivated Jr. Accountant to assist with the quantitative and qualitative analyses required to maintain accurate financial reporting and help drive company profitability. Responsibilities include both routine department duties as well as special projects. This role also provides internal audit functions as needed.

A Successful Candidate Will Have the Following:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three years professional experience within any department of World Book a plus.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment and collaborate with other team members.
• Knowledge of automated accounting software packages preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills & oral and written communication skills.

Here’s a look at the essential duties of this role:

• Actively participate in monthly and year-end closing processes including routine and ad-hoc schedules submitted to Parent Company.

• Assist in developing and performing monthly financial and variance analysis, pulling in required data from accounting and other systems, as necessary.

• Create or improve accounting and reporting processes.

• Participate in projects to improve identification and reporting of key business metrics, as well as assist in further automation of department activities.

• Manage customer outstanding balance collection efforts.

• Assist in maintaining routine profitability analysis by business unit and product, including gross profit and maintenance/development costs.

• Assist in AP invoice coding for assigned business vertical.

• Manage and review sales, tax and contract data accuracy.

• Assist with capital and asset preparation and analysis, and acquisition analysis as required, working with Controller and Sr. Financial Analyst.
