Position Title: Student Services Support Specialist - GR Area
Contract Start Date: July 1st
Immediate Supervisor: Center Director
Salary: $35,000 per year. Single Payer Insurance. Holiday, 10 Vacation days, 12 Sick Days Included.
Term: 260 work days.
Approved 40 hours per week.
General Description
The Student Services Support Specialist is a full-time position responsible for providing comprehensive services, support, and information resources that enable students to take active responsibility for their high school/college/workforce/career decisions.
General Duties:
1. Engage students through the enrollment process
2. Truancy Reporting and engaging parents in this process
3. Records Request from local schools
4. Assist in finding missing documents
5. Assisting in preparing individual student and family orientation folders
6. Assisting in the creation and submission of a students Educational Development Plan, Schedules
7. Sharing and arranging possible career, work, school opportunities
8. Assist students in helping with state testing transportation
9. Monitor attendance for students
10. Facilitate family engagement
11. Provide resources to families who need to obtain new legal documents for enrollment
12. Being a second person to conduct home visits and engage family units
13. A written plan for individual students will be created based on need, updated, adjusted and monitored and kept on file to be reviewed by CD and Associate Executive Director
14. Maintain communication over all breaks and the summer to keep our students/families engaged.
15. Assisting in auditing graduate credits
16. Assist with recovering devices of students no longer enrolled
17. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills with a variety of people from multi cultures
2. Ability to function effectively as a member of a team or independently
3. Minimum of 1 year experience in, or related to, career planning and development, including direct work with students.
4. Excellent Organization and Time Management Skills
5. Ability to utilize Google Suite products, such as email, calendar, sheets, slides, forms, hangouts video/chat
6. Ability to utilize fax machine, scanning to email and mail merge for documents
7. Commitment to helping students and families acquire the next opportunities of advancement.
8. Prior Powerschool experience preferred
9. Prior PULSE experience preferred
10. Prior Edgenuity experience preferred
