Ascent Cloud is Hiring an Engineering Manager Near Detroit, MI
As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of software developers, making tradeoffs between technical investments and product enhancements, and communicating sprint and release progress transparently to the team and leadership. You will develop a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and work closely with cross-functional partners from Product, Sales, and Customer teams. You will help your team of talented software developers deliver significant business impact with a product that has proven success. If you enjoy collaborating with technical and non-technical partners on a product with real-world impact, this is the role for you.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with Manager, Product, and Developers to Deliver our Product Vision.
- Translate Functional Requirements into Technical Requirements.
- Manage Team of Developers to Deliver Software Enhancements On-Time with High Quality.
- Meet with Customers Frequently to Understand their Business Needs.
- Identify Areas for Improvement within Current Ascent Cloud Solutions.
- 5 Years of Software Development Experience (SaaS Experience Preferred).
- 2 Years of Experience Leading a Team of Software Developers.
- Successfully Managed and Coached Teams to Deliver Solutions On-Time with High Quality.
- Strong Understanding of Cloud Architecture and Modern Development Patterns.
- Experience Working with CRM Based Platforms (Salesforce, CRM, etc.).
- Degree(s) in Computer Science or a Related Field Strongly Preferred.
- Technical ability to work hands-on with software developers in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams.
- Confident style while being respectful to others.
- Skilled in navigating competing priorities and timelines.
- Strong team orientation with the ability to develop individuals and earn their respect.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal stakeholders and team members.
- Contribute and thrive in a dynamic high-paced environment.
- High energy, self-motivated, and hands-on management style.
