We take pride in our creative and collaborative work environment and in delivering clinically excellent, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services.What are we looking for in a Therapist?This position serves as both a treatment provider and an intermediary to support individuals who have been selected to participate in the mental health program of Yakima County’s Probation Services and to participants of Yakima County’s Drug Court. The Therapist provides mental health assessments, supportive counseling, and therapy services to each program participant. The Therapist also coordinates with the Courts and Probation to provide updates on each client’s engagement with treatment, and to offer consultation and recommendations to improve the client’s outcomes. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to work with those in the legal system in order to help them obtain services that will ultimately reduce future legal contact. Frequent collaboration with partner organizations is essential in this role.
This is a contract-funded position expected to run through December 31, 2024. Although renewal of the contract is possible, we cannot guarantee it. We can consider remote Therapists who are independently licensed (LICSW or LMHC) in the State of Washington at the time of hire. All other Therapists are required to be on-site in Yakima.Therapist duties may include:

• completing mental health assessments and intake evaluations for each participant
• collaborating with each client to develop an individualized treatment plan
• providing individual therapy and facilitating behavioral health groups
• providing supportive counseling, case management, and care coordination to help connect participants with necessary services & resources
• coordinating with the courts & probation offices to provide updates about participants’ engagement with treatment and service access
• assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
• thorough and timely completion of required clinical documentation

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field 
• Must be eligible for designation as a Mental Health Professional
• Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
• Driver’s license, vehicle liability insurance, and a minimum of two years of safe driving experience
• If seeking remote work placement, but have active LICSW or LMHC in Washington at the time of hire
