The Position

Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking a skilled and experienced Maryland Bankruptcy Attorney to join our legal team specializing in representing secured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bankruptcy law and litigation, with a focus on advocating for the interests of secured creditors in court appearances. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base and play a critical role in protecting secured creditors' rights and interests. The right individual will be able to provide the quality of work that our clients have come to expect from our firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of bankruptcy matters involving secured creditors from inception to resolution, including drafting and filing motions, objections, and other legal documents.
• Review routine lender-side bankruptcy documents (POCs, MFRs, claims actions, NODs, etc.).
• Communicate effectively with secured creditors to understand their rights, obligations, and objectives in bankruptcy cases, and provide strategic guidance and updates throughout the process.
• In person appearances on bankruptcy matters throughout Maryland.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in the state of Maryland. Additional licenses are a bonus.
• 2 years of experience handling bankruptcy matters in Maryland.
• Prior lender-side default services experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to convey important information clearly and effectively.
• Positive energy and confidence.
• Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and proficiently.

Location

The firm has offices in Philadelphia, Jersey City, Manhattan and Garden City. Attorneys have total flexibility and can work a full five days/week remotely as long as they live in the state of Maryland.
