NOW HIRING: Desktop Support

Part-time, non-exempt positions

20-25 hours per week

The Desktop Support position is responsible for providing technological systems support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, determines and implements a solution. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.

Duties Include:

• Under direct supervision, performs routine technological systems support, maintenance, and testing; troubleshoots and resolves general system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts. Provides regular status reports and progress updates to supervisor and appropriate staff.
• Assists with the installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, workstations and/or other related equipment and devices: implementation of technology projects with moderate scope and impact.
• Completes assigned projects from initiation to closure, including following goals and timelines, reporting progress and results. Assists end users in resolving hardware and software issues, diagnoses problems, and performs other troubleshooting activities. Analyzes, researches and resolves complex PC and software problems.
• Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards and/or system. Assists with the review, evaluation and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates.
• Support audio and video equipment in conference rooms. Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Utilizes appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles and physical abilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Completion of High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a helpdesk environment.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service.
• Technical proficiency needed with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), databases, and other software.
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy, customer service skills with the ability to learn new information quickly.
• Related IT certifications (e.g. A or Network ), etc. preferred.
• This part-time position requires 20-25hours work per week.

Hiring Wage Range: $23.09 - $26.56/hour. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
