Jacksonville Sheriff Office is Hiring a MANAGER OF POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE (PAL) Near Jacksonville, FL
6/4/2024 Post End Date 6/19/2024 Job DescriptionThe position is responsible for overseeing the operation of JaxPAL non profit organization and strategic planning in support of organizational missions and goals. Provides leadership, direction and support to the Board of Directors in developing organizational goals; attaining/allocating resources; and establishing policies. Provides leadership and direction to management staff to assist in carrying out the key roles assigned to them. The manager must passionately communicate JaxPAL’s mission, programs, services, strategic plans, and priorities. Examples of Work
Develop strategic plans to generate revenue through a variety of fundraising techniques and be able to successfully fund raise to meet the annual budget. Identify, cultivate, and solicit donors
Develop strategic alliances with community leaders and local officials and collaborative partnerships with other youth-serving organizations, participants, parents, families, funders and community organizations
Ensure day to day operational effectiveness and develop continuous improvement strategies while promoting both the mission and core values of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Police Athletic League
Promotes and maintains an environment that facilitates the accomplishment of youth development outcomes and uses outcome measurements to demonstrate effectiveness in both in educational and athletic programs
Develop and implement programs, services, and activities that support youth development outcomes
Ensure that the annual budget approved by the Board of Directors is funded, and that the organization maintains adequate cash flow
Foster and promote a positive and supportive working environment; ensuring all PAL staff are aligned to the desired culture and mission-driven given the unique structure of the Police Athletic League (Employees include JSO sworn and civilian personnel, volunteers, and non-profit staff)
Increase visibility of JaxPAL programs, services, and activities; and maintain good public relations and trust
Identify, engage, leverage, and cultivate community resources and connections to further the mission of JaxPAL
Identify, recruit, and develop effective board members; and ensure active participation by board members
Ensure the Board of Directors supports and is engaged in the achievement of revenue targets through participation of events and board giving
Works for the Lieutenant of the PAL and helps leverage resources between PAL and the Sheriff’s Office to provide services to impact the most vulnerable communities in our city
Open Requirements/Supplemental Information
A minimum of five years’ progressive experience in running a youth serving nonprofit/public sector.
Experience working in a cross functional and complex reporting structure preferred.
