JOB SUMMARYSizer School, a North Central Charter Essential School, is seeking a driven, dynamic, and experienced special education teacher to be a part of the middle/high school instructional team. This educator is responsible for creating a classroom environment that supports all students. This candidate will bring a passion for supporting and implementing best instructional practices, wrap around student support services, and a commitment to further promote an already existing positive collaborative environment. Only those candidates with a deep passion for the Sizer School mission and ready to teach in and be a part of an exemplary, innovative public middle/high school need apply.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES●Provides specialized instruction for middle/high school students.●Provides inclusion support within content-area classrooms.●Develops and writes Individualized Education Plans in collaboration with the IEP team.●Manages a caseload of students with Individualized Education Plans.●Chairs IEP meetings (annual reviews) for students on caseload.●Maintains compliance with IDEA regulations.●Works collaboratively with Grade Level Teams to plan for instruction.●Completes required assessments for initial and 3 year re-evaluations.
