Agency Community Treatment Services is Hiring an Accountant Near Tampa, FL

Title: Accountant

ACTS is seeking a hands-on Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate has solid general ledger experience, great attention to detail, and can be counted on to meet deadlines. They will play a key role in month end close and in monitoring accuracy and completeness of various financial records of the Agency. This position will be involved with all the parts of the accounting department and the role can evolve and grow.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position on site. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours may range from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
  • Maintains the general ledger
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset tracking system and depreciation schedules
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
  • Maintains the general ledger
  • Perform related work as required/assigned
  • Occasional travel between ACTS facilities, banks and direct service locations should be expected

Pre-requisite:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in accounting or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with solid Excel skills
  • Ability to pass Level II Background Screening
