Registered Nurse Job Summary
We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Santa Fe who administers skilled nursing care to clients requiring professional nursing service in the home. Each staff nurse performs nursing services for residents within a specific area. These services are performed in accordance with the physician’s orders and under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON). Skilled RN service may include wound care, medication management, administration and teaching and Home safety evals. The Home Health RN teaches and supervises the family and other members of the nursing team.
Registered Nurse Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vitals; detect changes in symptoms, health, and/or pain
- Administer medication
- Set up for procedures with appropriate tools; maintain a full inventory of supplies
- Assist doctors with procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Communicate clearly and directly with patients; provide emotional support to patients and family members under stress
- Fill out and update patient documents and charts
Registered Nurse Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
- New Mexico Nursing License
- CPR Certification
- Drivers License
- Problem-solving/Multi-tasking Skills
- Valid state nursing license
- Experience as a nurse in a hospital or other healthcare setting
- Understanding of standard medical practices and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and great bedside manner
- Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
