We are seeking an experienced part-time maintenance technician to join our team at Shannon Fox Apartments, a community of forty-six one and two-bedroom apartments.
Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm along with emergency snow removal and rotational after-hours on-call shifts.
Key functions of the job include diagnosing and performing minor and routine maintenance/repair, as directed, involving the following:
•Electrical and plumbing (including water lines and hot water heaters)
•A/C and heating systems
•Stairs, fences, patios, railings
•Tile, carpet, flooring
•Masonry, siding, roofing, downspouts, gutters
•Interior/exterior lights, ceiling fans
•Gas lines, fixtures and appliances
•Cabinets, windows, and hanging interior/exterior doors
•Minor drywall, plaster & paint as necessary
•Minor sheet metal work & metal duct work repairs
•Change locks, re-key, and make keys
•Inspects, performs, and helps coordinate needed make-ready repairs and services
•Assists with moving abandoned furniture, non-working appliances, etc. to the dumpster when necessary
•Assists with keeping the grounds free of litter and curb appeal high (occasional)
•Required to report for emergency snow removal and take part in the after-hours on-call rotation
Requirements
Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may occasionally involve minor deviations.

• Needs the ability to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems promptly.
• Knowledgeable in all areas of maintenance including electrical, plumbing, carpentry & HVAC repairs.
• All applicants are required to take a general maintenance assessment.

Education and/or Experience: •One-year certificate from college or technical school; or •Three to six years related experience and/or training; or •Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: •Must have reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and auto insurance•EPA Type II Certification within ninety days of employment
