Under the direction of the principal and program-specific personnel (Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, Director of Student Services, and administrators), the Social Emotional Learning Instructional Coach (IC) builds teacher competence and understanding of effective/research-based social-emotional and instructional practices as related to the CASEL Framework, Illinois Learning Standards, and data-driven instruction. The SEL-IC ensures high-quality classroom instruction through modeling and providing feedback to teachers. The SEL-IC is responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers and administration to increase student engagement, improve student social and emotional skills and achievement, and build teacher capacity. The SEL-IC supports the Rock Island-Milan School District's mission, vision, and values.
