This role will create a thriving school smart lab program defined by innovation, critical thinking, and collaboration. As an instructional leader, the technology teacher will support the staff in elevating educational technology tools in alignment with the district's goals. The technology teacher will regularly co-teach with teachers from all content areas in the building along with building momentum, competence, and confidence for all staff in implementing high-quality student centered learning experiences. The technology teacher will develop systems and structures to support student learning.

The SmartLab is an innovative student workspace based on STEAM thinking. The SmartLab is a product of Creative Learning Systems which has a curriculum developed by innovative thinkers for students K-5. The teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, library staff, and specials teachers to create innovative, learner-driven experiences. This role is instrumental to the creative environment at Dr Justina Ford Elementary supports for all students.

Essential Duties:

• Have extensive experience teaching STEAM and project-based learning.
• Demonstrate experience in the leading inquiry process.
• Demonstrate commitment and experience in collaboratively planning with teachers.
• Support innovative thinking, problem-solving and teaching practices.
• Collaborate with LPS Instructional Specialists and the District Librarian.
• Ability to effectively manage a flexible schedule.
• Strengthen Personalized Instructional Strategies.
• Create a learning environment based on positive feedback, student connections, high expectations, and effective classroom management.
• Facilitate teaching and learning enhanced by digital resources when appropriate.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Successful applicants must be properly licensed for assignment as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.

STARTING SALARY RANGE : (Annual salary schedule based on 1.0 FTE)
WORK YEAR : 187 contract days (district educator calendar)
