ROLE SUMMARY
The Quality Control and Facility Manager oversees quality and compliance regulations for products and employees and assures the quality and compliance of the cultivation and production teams by performing audits, managing system improvements, and documentation. This role will ensure the facility is up to FLUENT standards by reviewing and monitoring quality assurance, compliance, Standardized Operating Procedures (SOP), and compliance with applicable laws governing medical cannabis in Florida.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the corporate Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Operations Departments to ensure quality and compliance at the facility.
  • Monitor quality and regulatory compliance for all cultivation and production activities at the facility.
  • Oversee implementation of all SOPs for new procedures, critical equipment, processes, and controls.
  • Monitor adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for the facility's operations.
  • Supervise seed-to-sale inventory tracking at the facility
  • Supervise compliance and quality assurance employees responsible for routine audits and inspections
  • Oversee GMP quality assurance program at the facility
  • Conducted inspections and audited facilities, processes, internal controls, and training programs.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and conduct regular plant and product inspections.
  • Ensure all cannabis cultivated at the facility is tested correctly and following company procedures and state guidelines to meet specifications before transfer to the Tampa facility.
  • Prepare compliance and quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, including failed processes, recalls, and corrective actions.
  • Assists in developing and continuously improving quality systems to ensure adherence to company and state regulations.
  • Develop, in coordination with company management, quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses, identifying critical control points, and preventive measures.
  • Update job knowledge by studying trends within the industry and participating in educational opportunities.
  • Oversee staff training and education to ensure that SOPs, health and safety, and good agricultural and manufacturing practices are followed in the Indoor grow and Greenhouse.
  • Maintain a highly focused, diligent, lean operational culture dedicated to FLUENT Cannabis Cares’ established mission objectives.
  • Ensure Compliance with all state and local laws, rules, and regulations governing the local medical marijuana program and other regulations such as OSHA, HIPPA, and NFPA.
  • Oversee general facility repairs and maintenance and oversee minor CAPEX projects for indoor grow and Greenhouse.
  • Work with department leads/supervisors to maintain GMP audit readiness.
  • Work with FLUENT's Construction Project Manager to oversee extensive item repairs, coordinate with vendors to gain information, and assign projects across the site.
  • Liaison with outside vendors and companies to obtain quotes for any work that needs to be done on-site.
  • Establish and meet daily with department leads to discuss production requirements and daily situation awareness.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent on-the-job experience
Three years minimum of quality assurance, compliance, or quality control experience.
One year minimum of medical cannabis industry experience desired.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
Must pass a drug screening

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may have supervisory responsibility for the Cultivation Quality Assurance team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in cultivation and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses cultivation processing equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
