City of Coon Rapids is Hiring a Golf Maintenance - Seasonal - Free Golf! Near Coon Rapids, MN

We provide all the training you need!Bunker Hills Golf Club is a premier destination nestled in beautiful Bunker Hills Regional Park in Coon Rapids is seeking candidates for seasonal Golf Maintenance worker. 
Job responsibilities include assisting with mowing and trimming golf course grounds, changing golf cups, moving tee markers, and assisting with sand trap maintenance. We are seeking exceptional individuals age 16 and older to join us. Great team work, and a positive work culture come join our team! Position will work between 30-40 hours per week which will include every other weekend. This position will be open until filled.

  • Assists with mowing and trimming golf course grounds.
  • Assists with changing golf cups.
  • Assists with tee marker movement.
  • Picks up and removes garbage from golf course grounds.
  • Assists with sand trap maintenance.
  • Assists with filling water coolers, as required.
  • Communicates with golf course employees effectively via two-way radio.
  • Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
  • Provides effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.
  • Maintains positive professional working relationships with all staff levels, other jurisdictions and outside agencies, and the general public.
  • Follows oral and written instructions such as supervisor's work orders and equipment operation manuals.
  • Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
  • Performs essential position duties and responsibilities under the working conditions and physical demands described herein.
  • Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated.
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
  • Thorough practical knowledge of the game of golf.
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used in developing and mataining greens on a golf course.
  • Ability to use riding and push mowers effectively.
  • Ability to use weed trimming tools effectively.
  • Ability to effectively communicate using the use two-way radio.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with City personnel, external vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to perform duties with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and follow through with tasks.
  • Ability to maintain a team and service oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to accept criticism or discipline.
  • Must strive to promote a cooperative atmosphere in the department and exhibit a positive attitude.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to the following:
  • Thorough understanding of the game of golf.
  • Familiarity with lawn mowing and trimming equipment.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or keyboards; speak intelligibly, hear and read.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. 
  • The employee must frequently move, turn, lift and carry objects weighing up to 90 pounds. Examples of lifting and carrying requirements include but are not limited to 10-gallon water jugs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, distance vision and depth perception. 
  • Must be able to operate assigned equipment.
EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Duties performed will include outside work in climatic weather, including temperature shifts and wet and/or humid conditions. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.. This position works closely with others. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
