This Accounting Consultancy firm seeks a visionary Senior Accounting Consultant to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role demands a strategic thinker with robust expertise in accounting and a passion for driving educational excellence through financial stewardship. As a key player at this firm, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of financial operations to oversee critical accounting tasks, foster compliance, and deliver insightful financial presentations that influence key decisions. This role will require occasional client site visits.
RequirementsFinancial Management and Reporting:
  • Oversee and refine daily accounting operations, ensuring meticulous management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Conduct comprehensive reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, etc. to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data
  • Craft detailed financial statements and reports to support strategic decision-making processes
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives, providing critical financial insights that help shape the institution's strategic direction
Compliance and Audit Engagement:
  • Uphold rigorous standards of compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations, ensuring all financial operations reflect the company's commitment to integrity and accuracy
  • Coordinate and manage audit activities such as preparing audit schedules and liaising with auditors, fostering a transparent and cooperative environment that meets regulatory standards and promotes continuous improvement
Client Relations and Presentation:
  • Deliver compelling financial presentations to key stakeholders, including school boards and financial executives, demonstrating the impact of strategic financial management on educational outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and providing customized financial insights and recommendations
Project Management and Strategic Agility:
  • Manage and prioritize multiple financial projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met with high standards of quality
  • Respond proactively to client needs, adapting strategies and plans as required to address evolving priorities and challenges
  • Demonstrate agility in project execution, seamlessly integrating new information and adjusting project scopes to align with client and company goals
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication across project teams and with clients to ensure alignment and timely completion of objectives
Leadership and Team Development:
  • Mentor and develop junior team members as the team continues to grow, instilling a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth
  • Champion initiatives to optimize financial processes and systems, enhancing the operational efficiency and strategic impact of the financial team
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience is highly regarded
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
