Start Date: Immediate hire
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited university is required.
Requirements: NYS teacher certification is preferred and NYSED Fingerprinting clearance required
Experience & Skills:
* Experience teaching, interacting and working with children of varied ages.
* Supervising youth and representing positive role modeling through all interactions with program participants.
* Knowledge of child development.
* Skill in classroom management and developing lesson plans.
* Flexible to the needs of the classroom environment.
* Motivated self-starter.
* Keeping confidences, loyalties and practice professionalism.
Responsibilities:
* Teach lesson plans as outlined by the absent teacher.
* Perform all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the Principal.
* Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
* Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
* Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
* Remain at school during hours 8 AM to 4:00 PM
* Maintain a professional appearance.
Terms of Employment:
* As needed/called by Amber Charter Schools at the rate of $26.74 per hour
