Overview:

EagleView, the leader in aerial imagery, is hiring an Associate Mapping Technician in our Flight Planning and Mapping department. In this role, you will create flight plans for our Flight Operations team while supporting the EV’s mission to safely deliver high quality projects on time. Our collaborative and dynamic group is responsible for working with Project Managers to complete projects and tasks across EV Operations.

Responsibilities:

Creates flight plans that safely and efficiently capture required imagery to prepare high quality fixed wing aerial imagery products. Liaises between Project Management, Flight Operations and Planning to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, rig types are properly planned and communicated.

  • Provide GIS Support
  • Shapefile creation and manipulation for use in production
  • Data acquisition
  • Map creation for quoting and proposals
  • Evaluation of target flight areas for capture viability
  • Create safe and efficient basic flight plans by considering pilot safety and terrain variability
  • Handle all requests for modifications to existing basic flight plans.
  • Evaluate imagery datasets for coverage and build additional flight plans as needed with support from. manager or Sr. Mapping Technician.
  • Obtain, analyze, QC, and process elevation data for use in flight planning and image processing.
  • Review image quality alerts for resolution and escalation as needed.
  • DRP Rotating team coverage weeknights and weekend.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or equal work experience
  • Geography, GIS or cartography preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Geospatial experience
  • Ability to work efficiently and respond quickly to internal and external inquiries
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability– ability to switch gears when priorities and workloads change in a dynamic work environment
  • Resourceful- ability to quickly learn new applications such as ArcGIS (i.e., ESRI's ArcMap), database programs, and Salesforce.com
  • Punctuality and willingness to work until the task is completed
  • Familiarity with Pictometry Software Suite preferred
