Job Description SummaryAdjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests. Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Teach material from the curriculum in accordance with course design and guidelines
Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes
Provide regular and timely feedback to students
Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining contact with students, offering assistance to absent students, and working to promote student satisfaction
Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process
Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies
Promptly communicate issues of concern with the departmental leadership
Provide feedback to Subject Matter Expert and/or Department leadership regarding course content and student learning, as part of the program’s continuous improvement process.
Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And CredentialsEducation and Experience Minimum qualification:
Applicants must possess one of the following degrees from an accredited school: PhD, EdD, ThM, MDiv, and/or MA in a qualifying area.
Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Proven organizational skills and an ability to complete required tasks, both timely and accurately, with minimal supervision
Superior interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office, LMS, and the Internet
Demonstrated strengths in teaching at the college level
