Description

The Operations Excellence Manager (OEM) reports to the Change Manager (CM) and is responsible for leading the Operations Excellence (OE) team in driving efficiencies throughout the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC). The OE Team collaborates daily with the KCC LDRM Management Team (OM/AOMs/CM) as well as across the Operations team to analyze data, prepare reports, make recommendations, provide briefings as needed, and help drive performance improvement through measurement, analysis, and continuous process improvement activities. The OEM reports directly to the Change Manager and plays a crucial role in the management of process improvements that support functions of the Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities are:

Identify areas of improvement for products, processes or services.

Through comprehensive knowledge of OE principles, concepts and theories, work towards advancing new methodologies.

Supervise the activities of the OE team.

Sets priorities of the OE team in collaboration with the Change Manager

Analyze and benchmark specific processes to support improvements.

Identify process efficiencies across the KCC operations.

Analyze system inefficiencies and recommend changes for improvement.

Develop tools that support existing or new processes.

Develop training materials or instructions where required.

Research data and best practices for KCC processes.

Prepares reports using Power BI

Prepares spreadsheets using MS Excel

Prepares analytical reports and proposals.

Serves as an expert resource for evaluation and action against assigned measures.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

US Citizen

2 years of demonstrated experience with operational excellence, continuous improvement processes, Lean or Six Sigma methodology.

Demonstrated business acumen, experience in managing projects teams, programs, or workstreams of varying levels of complexity.

At least three (3) years of management/supervisory experience

Superior organizational skills and work ethic

Excellent written and oral communication

Must have experience with Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Must have experience using Power BI and SharePoint

Skills to translate and present visualization of data into a format that can trigger action and business decisions.

Ability to effectively coach and mentor direct reports

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products and familiarity with O365 environment

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant field

Trained in Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies.

Capability in Lean and Six Sigma tools and/or desire to grow capabilities to further drive continuous improvement projects.

Experience using Power BI and SharePoint
