SunCoast Blood Centers is currently looking for professional and motivated Director of Donor Services to join their growing team.

Job Duties:
- Directs operations related to donor centers and mobile collections. Ensures that activities are conducted in compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
- Oversees the interviewing and hiring of donor services. Assures that selected personnel have the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the requirements of the job.
- Oversees the annual competency evaluation process for donor services staff.
- Coaches and mentors’ supervisory staff to develop effective leadership and training skills.
- Counsels and evaluates the performance of direct reports. Oversees processes related to the coaching and mentoring of donor services staff to ensure a well-functioning team.
- Meets established collection goals and standards through effective training, leadership, and product maximum strategies.
- Oversees the process of determining donor suitability and eligibility. Ensures that these processes are maintained and followed as defined by SOP.
- Oversee the donor adverse reaction response process. Ensures timely documentation and reporting of such reactions for donor follow-up and the tracking/trending process.
- Oversees the process to monitor, track, trend and report on deferral, unsuccessful bleed, double red cell collection, platelet split rate, deviation rate and overtime staffing.
- Utilizes meetings and communication methods to inform and update donor services staff regarding new policies, SOPs, practices, and general information.
- Directs the process for the investigation and timely response to “O” reports, errors and accidents related to donor services operations.
- Tracks, trends, and analyzes monthly donor services productivity data. Reports findings to the COO and develops corrective action plans for improvements to operations.
- Directs the process for the investigation and timely resolution of internal and external customer service issues.
- Schedules and reviews periodic QC, maintenance, calibration and validation of the instruments and equipment.
- Develops and maintains SOPs for donor services. Submits to the COO for approval.
- Assists COO in monitoring and explaining deviations in monthly expenses for donor services.
- Prepares and adheres to financial budget for donor centers and mobile locations.
- Management team to promote and execute donor center campaigns, including staffing, communications and recruitment and retention strategies.
- Participates in activities to further professional development.
- Other duties as required to fulfill the organization’s mission and vision.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Licensure/Certification:
None
Experience:
5 years blood donor collections or other equivalent medically related field, plus 3 years supervisory
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work: Walking and/or standing for extended periods of time with occasional sitting. Occasionally exerting between 20-60 lbs. of force to lift or move objects.
