Spanish Language Meteorologist for our Spanish newscasts on Noticias RGV 5.2
KRGV Channel 5 News and KRGV 5.2 Noticias RGV is looking for a strong Spanish Language Meteorologist who will be responsible for the promotion of weather content on Noticias RGV, our Spanish language digital channel. The Rio Grande Valley is recognized among the most affordable and safest places to live in the country with low crime, warm weather year-round and beautiful ocean beaches at South Padre Island. Here is an opportunity to cover just about any type of weather situation such as severe weather, flooding and hurricanes.
KRGV and Noticias RGV broadcast more news in Spanish than any other Spanish station in the market producing over 33 hours of news 7 days per week. As part of Channel 5 News the ABC affiliate in the RGV, we are the largest, most experienced weather team in the market with seven meteorologists and forecasters.
We are looking for someone with a passion for weather and a willingness to become proficient in local climate and meteorology. The top candidate will have fluency in Spanish and English, since there could be opportunities to do weather in English for Channel 5 News. Must have excellent communication skills in Spanish with the ability to ad lib when required, both oral and written. The Rio Grande Valley is the tenth-largest Hispanic market in the country and is recognized for being among the most affordable places to live in the country with low crime, warm weather year round, and beautiful ocean beaches. This is an opportunity to cover just about any type of weather situation such as severe weather, flooding and hurricanes.
This position is Full-Time.
