BETA FUELING SYSTEMS LLC is Hiring an Electrical Technician Near Reidsville, NC

Description

Job Purpose: The Electrical Technician will support the electrical programming and electrical assembly functions in our manufacturing process; troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment, designs and software for aviation refueling equipment. The Electrical Technician will work as part of the Engineering team. Work hours are Monday – Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, with occasional overtime required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Electrical Engineer to design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial, or industrial purposes
  • Help troubleshoot electrical production issues and existing equipment malfunctions
  • Use CAD to create and update 2D electrical schematics
  • Support the manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements
  • Investigate or test vendors' or competitors' products
  • Investigate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and work with engineering to recommend remedial measures
  • Research equipment costs and help with cost estimates
  • Train project team members as necessary
  • Work within the engineering team and cross functionally with operations, procurement, quality, service, sales & BETA customers

Education and Experience Required:

  • Highschool GED (required)
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering/Technology (preferred)
  • 3-5 years relevant maintenance or manufacturing experience
  • AutoCAD, DraftSight or similar 2D CAD software
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining and electrical controls systems 
  • Hardware (switches, cable harnesses, sensors, valves, linear actuators and other electromechanical devices, hydraulics and pneumatics)
  • Ability to complete projects through all aspects of spec reviews with customers, design, and hand-off to manufacturing and product life-cycle management
  • Implement processes and procedures, and effective project documentation
  • Ability to effectively transform a vision into reality and successfully execute/integrate cross functionally
  • Willingness to work cross functionally and communicate clearly on roadblocks and project status
  • Ability to prioritize the critical few and communicate the importance of execution of the critical few 
  • Ability to identify complex problems and (creatively) develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues
  • Board level electronics, integrated circuits, software and hardware integration 
  • Knowledge of circuit diagrams, blueprints, drawings, and models for the production of electrical and controls systems.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory
  • Ability to travel 2-3 weeks per year for training or field work 
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)
  • Physical Requirements – using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, ability to read written instructions, lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds independently

Highly Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Software and PLC experience to include ladder logic, structured text, function block. Codesys and C programming preferred. 
  • HMI concepts and integration experience 
  • Experience or working knowledge of communication systems including Ethernet and fieldbus communications such as Canopen and J1939 etc.
  • Experience with aviation equipment, automotive, or industrial vehicles
  • Electrical systems design experience within a manufacturing setting
  • ERP system & BOMS creation experience
