As the Controller, you will oversee the accounting department’s goals and objectives to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the department. This position will provide financial and other necessary information that will assist management and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s future. The Controller is vital to the success and continuing growth of RAM Construction Services. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and strong work ethic. To perform this position sufficiently, the employee must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and assist in the activities of the accounting department for accuracy and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets.

  • Oversee and assist in the activities of:
  • Accounts Payable- ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Purchase Orders
  • Petty Cash, core employee expense reports & cash control
  • Core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Activities of accounts receivables- to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports as well as monitoring statistic management.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company’s value.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others courteously and professionally.
  • Assist in the training and development of accounting department staff when needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a related position, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Accounting/Controller experience in the construction field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) with the ability to learn new software.
  • Able to communicate professionally both verbally and written.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: As the Controller, the employee will be subject to an indoor office setting surrounded by fellow employees.
