Columbia Care is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Aurora, CO

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Laboratory Technician who shares our passion for quality medicine for patients who need them. The Laboratory Technician assists with operating the facility's extraction equipment, utilizing processing protocols and strategy, and day to day production. The Laboratory Technician assists the extraction department through the activities required to manufacture, store, maintain, and procure all equipment and materials necessary to run a world-class laboratory.

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

* Operates all equipment safely and efficiently, including the grinding mill, rotovap, and other processing apparatuses.

* Assists with refining, distilling, isolating, combining, capturing terpenes, coordinating inventory, analyzing potency, and performing microbial tests.

* Follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and applicable government regulations in the industry.

* Accurately weighs, labels, and stores materials and identify and report any deviations.

* Manages inventory of raw materials and record data management software platforms.

* Develops and updates SOPs to ensure safety, quality, and process control.

* Understands and safely handles hazardous materials and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).

* Maintains a clean and organized work environment.

* Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on associated equipment.

* Monitors and manages lab and processing supplies.

* Contributes toward an inclusive and positive workplace culture.

* Works as part of a team to coordinate and meet production schedules and support new product and process development.

* Exemplifies good verbal and written communication skills.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):

* All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

* Associate's degree in a science discipline preferred (biology, chemistry, or chemical engineering, etc.).

* 1-3 years' experience in pharmaceutical, food, beverage and/or cannabis industries.

* Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory tracking systems experience.

* Good math and conversion skills.

* Background in natural product extraction (closed loop extraction systems to include ethanol, essential oil extraction, etc.) desired.

* Comfortable handling confidential information.

* Attention to detail and willingness to learn and improve.

* Availability to work occasional weekends and holidays.

* Some travel may be required for training purposes.

* Must have a valid driver's license or State ID card.

* Must pass all required background checks.

Additional Abilities Required:

* The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 10 pounds (or more with a coworker). Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
