Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is Hiring a Church Partnership Learning Specialist I Near Renton, WA

The Church Partnership Learning Specialist (CPLS) oversees the creation, development, planning and execution of all CP trainings, presentations, related projects and new initiatives. The CPLS is the main point of contact for Churches and helps to build relationships with churches and supports the ongoing efforts of the Church Partnership team.

What you will do

  • Oversees the planning, creation, development and execution of all new CP trainings, presentations, related projects and new initiatives
  • Develops and updates all CP training scripts, PowerPoints, workbooks and related materials including writing, editing, approvals as well as working with contract writers and the marketing creative team
  • Plays a lead role at events – plans the event, coordinates scheduling, oversees set up & take down, mans the booth, may occasionally have a speaking role and more
  • Leads, develops and coordinates CP communications including emails, newsletters and inquiries
  • Coordinates Mission requests regarding church partnerships
  • Keeps the CP team updated on volunteer opportunities and GIK needs
  • Works with appropriate Mission staff to leverage Mission resources and expertise in support of CP efforts
  • Manage event budgets and uses GIK resources and other Mission resources to manage costs.
  • Works with VE and other Mission teams to help coordinate church volunteer efforts
  • Works with Donor Relations and GIK to support and engage churches
  • Act as representative of the Mission to churches, staff and donors
  • Help identify potential churches, key individuals for CP
  • Maintain CP database in Studio Enterprise
  • Have a working knowledge on issues surrounding homelessness, Mission programs, initiatives, and communications & messaging. The CPPM will regularly volunteer with our Outreach team, kitchen staff, Hope Place, Men’s Shelter/Riverton staff, GIK and other Mission departments.
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional, can do attitude
  • Attend and participate in all Mission, division and department meeting and trainings, as required
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters in Theology or related fields strongly preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in events, training development and working with churches, Para-church or church experience a plus.
  • Three years of experience in a ministry of compassion environment desired.
  • Proven ability to maintain relationships, and successfully lead and execute projects.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding, and talking on the telephone. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds and walks, uses stairways to climb to multiple floors within the facility. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
