Job Summary:

The qualified applicant will work as the program Lead at the Aston campus. The Lead will support the coordination and management of the responsibilities and job duties of credible messengers in their respective schools. In addition, the lead will also work as a mentor, carrying a caseload of students in addition to administrative responsibilities. The lead will provide special attention to further the development of the VFZ program, they will also be expected to play a key role in the professional growth and development of the credible messengers under their supervision. The Program Coordinator must have a relevant college degree or have the equivalent of a minimum of five years of relevant on-the-job experience. He/she must be based full-time at the campus where services are being delivered to students and families. 

Essential Functions:

• Provides day to day oversight and administration of program, including the enrollment, orientation, attendance, and quality control
• Provides written reports on program goals and outcomes to Project Manager biweekly
• Provides supervisory support to credible messenger team, including annual performance appraisals, disciplinary process, reassignments, and termination counseling
• Implements sponsored curriculum to a targeted caseload of students each week
• Tracks data on a weekly basis, and reports information and findings to the leadership team
• Complies with all program monitoring /reporting criteria as set by the funder
• Meets and networks with police, former and active gang members, local service agencies, and residents of the surrounding communities to address issues and promote opportunities that will improve the culture and climate of the school
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check Clearance
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
• FBI Criminal Background Clearance

Demonstrated Knowledge of:

• Basic typing abilities, basic computer literacy (Microsoft Suite)
• Google Suite
• Power Point

Demonstrated Ability to:

• Read, analyze, and interpret data and contribute to discussions during data meetings
• Make deep connections in urban communities, including but not limited to interacting with prospective and/or active gang members
• Mentor students based on a “lived experience” with crime and/or criminal activity
• Manage multiple priorities under changing deadlines
• Work well with others
• Make decisions and recommendations
