Performs a variety of responsible tasks involving nutrition assessments and counseling of individuals and families in nutrition principals, diet, food selection, and economics focusing on WIC clients. Supervises WIC clinic Administrative Assistants, a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, and other Nutritionists on site. Opportunity to provide nutrition counseling for gestational diabetes. Conducts evaluations and audits on WIC staff based on the local and state policies and procedures. Will gain experience communicating and working closely with an interdisciplinary leadership team. Communicates with other management and leadership staff, and community agencies and members to support the needs of the patient and the program. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university majoring in nutrition or any related subject area. Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible. Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of NC or able to take the registration exam within 3 months of employment. Some Spanish skills preferred.
