Job Summary

The Solution Architect is responsible for the design of technology solutions in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, business goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards.

This position delivers:

effective communication of IT activities, processes and solutions within the IT department

solution architecture for IT projects, ensuring project delivery exceeds customer needs and expectations

strategic thought leadership which drives IT & Business adoption and usage of technology resulting in increased benefit realization, value creation, and the achievement of ROI.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities are:

Responsible for developing solution architecture framework to support product solutions for core business functions, ensuring alignment with other products as well as in alignment with overall IT enterprise architecture standards and practices.

Provide leadership, oversight and guidance on application design and development, serving as an expert on technical capabilities. Provide vision; define system and application architecture, problem anticipation and problem solving ability across the landscape.

Design, document and maintain system processes, report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team. Establish a deep understanding of our customers business and technical needs and communicating key insights and findings to product team.Provide deep software/hardware technical architecture expertise to ensure proper solution design.

Align and support with strategic direction of broader IT organization. Provide strategic vision/plans/roadmap to stay current with vendor products, promote innovation and product enhancements that improves customer experience and simplifies the current application landscape.

Develop an understanding of our existing IT infrastructure while actively searching for improvement areas

Responsible for establishing strong partnerships with vendors and setting clear expectations. This includes negotiating agreements, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring contracts are in place to support the product needs.

Facilitate and coordinate external benchmarking/best practice efforts and relationships with other business organizations

Provide specific contributions as directed by Product Leader

Available for after hour calls/incidents and troubleshooting

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

A minimum of 4 years relevant experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.

Must possess demonstrated leadership skills

Ability to manage multiple medium sized projects ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture

Minimum 4 years solution architecture experience with proven experience designing solutions for core business functions

Minimum 4 years of experience with designing software & hardware solutions used in large enterprises including Customer CRM(i.e Salesforce), Customer Billing and payment applications, Analytics/Big Data, Cloud, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions

Proven experience with aligning project solutions to overall corporate enterprise architecture

Work and communicate with a wide range of people peers, vendors, staff members, broader functional and business leadership, and others. Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, demeanor and discretion

Ability to proactively communicate technical topics in a clear, succinct, and relevant way.

Demonstrated ability to perform assigned work proficiently.

Excellent teamwork, facilitation, relationship building, and negotiation skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Advanced degree, e.g. Bachelors in Information Technology

Experience in a team lead role through projects and other work planning experiences

Good understanding of IT methodologies and IT processes

Familiarity with coding languages, operating systems, and databases

Strong leadership and influence skills. Ability to work through issues independently with successful outcomes

Proactively identify key features, capabilities and areas of improvements needed within the products

Excellent teamwork, facilitation, relationship building, and negotiation skills.

Understanding of ITIL and ITSM concepts
