Responsible for greeting clients, managing client flow through the shelter, and making sure clients are handed off to the staff member that can best assist them. Keeping front area clean, neat and presentable. Perform data entry, manage daily check-in spreadsheet, answer telephones, and assist clients in-person if needed.

· Provide excellent customer service.

· Bilingual English/Spanish speaker a plus.

· Monitor check-in spreadsheet.

· Call clients who are waiting for assistance with updates on wait times. Ask for additional information if needed.

· Manage traffic flow through the building. Ensure clients are assisted while also following social distance and safety guidelines.

· Coordinate with all departments to provide information, assistance, and service to clients.

· Coordinate with staff each morning to find out who is working in each area.

· Assist with animal care and cleaning as needed.

· Keep front desk and lobby clean and organized.

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Clerical experience and ability to create documents and spreadsheets.

· Ability to communicate with clients via phone, email and in person in a professional manner

· Firm understanding of the mission of LifeLine and our lifesaving efforts.

· Ability to interact with dogs, cats and other animals including vicious, stray, sick or injured animals.

· Must be able to work weekends and evenings.

· Must have reliable transportation.

· Must like animals!

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. One years’ experience in animal related field preferred.

Language Skills:

Must be able to read and interpret kennel policy guidelines and policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively to kennel visitors and provide good customer services skills.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to a kennel that is not air-conditioned and may be exposed to unpleasant kennel smells. May have to handle dogs and cats that are stray, injured, diseased or vicious.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
