Over the past 223 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.We are seeking a motivated and versatile **Part-time Graphic Designer (W-F, ~10am-6pm)** to join our team in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. This position will be a combination of designing visuals to help tell stories online, as well print design projects for the daily paper. Continue a long tradition of compelling journalism through the lens of a truly unique brand, bringing vision and creativity as we continue to grow.**Key Responsibilities:** Work closely with the Creative Director and Deputy Design Director to develop and refine graphical concepts that align with the publication’s brand identity Create engaging and visually appealing illustrations, composites, maps and all types of graphics for stories Collaborate with editorial teams to understand content requirements and ensure seamless integration of text and visuals Generate and contribute to creative ideas for visual storytelling in print and digital Work collaboratively with both digital and print editors, photo editors, and other designers and graphic artists Ensure adherence to established style guidelines for all assignments Stay updated on industry trends and software updates to enhance design capabilities Execute designs and concepts that are sophisticated and forward looking, displaying a strong sense of content Proactively approach daily projects, developing smart solutions for telling stories visually**The ideal candidate will have:** 5 plus years design experience preferably within an editorial environment Superior organizational and communication skills Sophisticated sense of graphics The ability to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment with daily deadlines The ability to work on various projects at once Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail as well as strong organizational skills In-depth knowledge of Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator required. Experience with WordPress, After Effects, Airtable, Flourish, MapCreator and/or Methode a plus**Note: The NY Post adheres to a hybrid work model.****Salary Range: $25/hr – $45/hr**At The New York Post we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
