What You Will Do

As the Senior Manager, Logistics & Fulfillment you will own all aspects of management and planning for logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, and transportation. You will collaborate cross functionally to ensure appropriate communication and service levels are provided to both external and internal customers. You will assess current state processes and seek opportunities to improve automation, accuracy, and transparency. You will be a game changer by continuously evaluating the state of logistics and fulfillment and bring new ideas and solutions to improve the efficiency and function of the Chomps' business.

Responsibilities

  • Order Management
    • Manage, execute, and optimize end-to-end sales orders
    • Formalize and own overall communication strategy including internal and external escalations
    • Collaborate internally on new customers and EDI set up and other technical support needs
    • Act as a key contributor to the internal S&OP process
    • Collaborate internally on EOQ/MOQ analyses to set our sales teams up for success
  • Logistics & Warehousing 
    • Act as primary contact for logistics, transportation, and warehousing partners and lead weekly and QBR meetings 
    • Own SOP documentation and continuously seek strategies to improve accuracy and automation
    • Establish and manage a comprehensive 3PL network of primary and secondary providers 
    • Support onboarding of new points of distribution including international requirements, as needed 
    • Support logistics of internal initiatives, consumer events, and trade shows 
    • Manage intercompany transfers (shipments) of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
    • Conduct periodic reviews of rates, lanes, and network for all transportation legs; execute formal RFPs as necessary 
    • Review network capacity regularly against volume projections and collaborate with internal and external partners to drive transparency through our supply chain
  • Fulfillment
    • Create and manage consistent fulfillment processes and procedures 
    • Create and execute fulfillment prioritization framework across internal and external orders 
    • Monitor average order details against plan and collaborate cross functionally to improve margins 
    • Support data entry efforts within NetSuite
    • Ensure appropriate documentation is in place at our 3PL fulfillment centers and audit these processes during periodic site visits
    • Maintain lot control and traceability across the fulfillment network
    • Evaluate the fulfillment network periodically to ensure we are with partners that are able to support our growth plans
    • Bring insights and analyses to support negotiations with incumbent and prospective fulfillment partners
  • KPI / Results delivery 
    • Establish standard dashboards and reporting to monitor KPIs and other metrics to identify performance improvement opportunities 
    • Maximize service delivery, via on-time and in-full (OTIF) reporting and action plans
    • Partner with customer service team on order cut execution
    • Optimize order lead times for wholesale and direct to customer (D2C) shipments
    • Monitor warehouse storage capacity (utilization) and inbound/outbound capacities
    • Develop budgets and track actual spend versus budget for fulfillment, logistics and warehousing buckets, i.e. manage costs at/below budgets
    • Support the month-end-close process and periodic physical inventory counts 
    • Manage third party invoice approval process to compliance to contracts and service levels \Identify and implement cost savings initiatives
  • Leadership
    • Coach and develop direct reports through performance management process
    • Assist operational leadership in staffing needs and recruiting
    • Participate in the cross-functional Strategic Initiatives process as needed
    • Identify areas of opportunity to build a more cohesive supply chain through auditing processes and facility workflows
    • Travel as necessary to current and future warehouses, manufacturing sites, transportation partners, and the Chomps Chicago office
    • Strong partnership and collaboration across all the functions within Operations (Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning) and also other cross-functional partners (Sales, Ecomm, Business Analytics/Customer Service, Finance teams)

Who You Are

  • Highly proficient in MS Excel
  • Experienced ERP user (SAP, NetSuite, MS Dynamics)
  • Retail/Wholesale fulfillment and transportation experience required
  • You are a strong people leader that takes great pride in developing your team
  • You are able to quickly grasp new concepts, multitask, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges in a fast-paced environment; you like building game changing systems
  • You have an entrepreneurial mentality with a 'self-starter' approach
  • You are an adept problem solver who seeks creative solutions, with a consistent attention to detail
  • You have the capability to effectively delegate tasks through your team to support their development and organizational priorities
  • You are highly organized and a strong communicator with demonstrated cross-functional experience
  • You are experienced in working cross-collaboratively within a supply chain function to drive broader organizational efforts
  • You are an experienced leader with third party logistics providers that excels in change management
  • You can handle detailed procedures in a time-constrained environment
  • You are experienced with creating SOPs and other process documentation
  • Ability to lead short-term daily/weekly/monthly execution, but also establish a strategic roadmap to set up the Logistics team and Chomps Brand for future success
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 5 years of experience in 3PL fulfillment network management and/or distribution network management
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Location: Illinois or Indiana preferred

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $125,000 - $130,000 20% annual bonus

Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:

  • Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
  • Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
