Summary :

• Schedule : Mon-Fri 7 am to 4 : 30 pm, some Saturday hours may be required.

General Purpose :

Responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of vehicles from customer sites to company sites. Perform all job duties in accordance with established work procedures.

Qualifications :

• Rollback flatbed towing single and double vehicles required (Chevy 5500 rollback with wheel lift for additional vehicle).
• Safety oriented.
• Roll-off experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace.
• Class B CDL is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Drives the tow truck in a safe manner at all times, ensuring that every trip is completed by DOT regulations, and speed limits, and free of accidents.
• Responsible for monitoring road and traffic conditions at all times to prevent accidents.
• Picks up and delivers vehicles to Metalico yards safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
• Responsible for inspecting customer vehicles to make sure it’s in agreement with the deal that was made between the customer and the Metalico representative.
• The driver will be responsible for matching up the customer title to VIN number and bringing the title back to the scale house.
• Responsible for maneuvering the truck at the customer’s site in a safe and accident-free manner at all times.
• Monitors mechanical functions of the truck, responsible for reporting any issues to their reporting manager or the maintenance supervisor.

Ensures truck is kept clean inside and out.

• This position makes safety a top priority and looks for opportunities to improve on safety, follows all safety rules, and wears appropriate PPE at all times.
• Participates in monthly safety meetings.
• Communicate to the manager any customer concerns or any other concern the driver may have.
• Communicate to the manager immediately any accidents that may have happened with or without damage or any damage done at a customer’s facility or in transit to or from the yard / customer location.
