Central Piedmont Community College is Hiring a Part Time Program Assistant II Near Charlotte, NC

General Function

This position will assist in the development, maintenance, and contribution of the College’s progress in vendor diversity awareness, support, retention, and growth. The ideal candidate will provide responsible staff support to the Vendor Diversity Program Specialist; manage the activities of faculty and staff as needed; and interface with external customers to determine current training needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to researching, tracking, developing, and updating vendor details.
  • Administrative support coordinating the efforts of the office of Vendor Diversity; management of calendars; workshop/special event coordination and follow-up with other program areas, as well as coordination of meetings, preparation of reports and presentations; assistance with special projects.
  • Prepare documents, including communications, content synthesis, and minutes.
  • Assist the Vendor Diversity Program Specialist in developing planning, implementing, and administering goals and objectives of the assigned area.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining/supporting continued updates of the Vendor Diversity filing system and assist in preparing regularly scheduled reports.
  • Perform research, complete projects, and correspond with project partners in support of appointments and events as requested.
  • Coordinate planning, preparation, and follow-up of regularly scheduled workshops and special events and prepare attendee lists, name tags, publicity, invitations, etc.
  • Support and engage with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body, as well as external partners and vendors.
  • Assist in the gathering of information for accurate year-end reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree from an accredited institution or equivalent education and experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and ability to proofread and edit documents
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams7, Outlook, and ability to learn new software if needed
  • Ability to work collegially in a diverse environment
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment; infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 10 lbs.; infrequently twisting or bending at the waist or reaching overhead; infrequently traveling between buildings on campus, to other campuses, locally or out-of-town to attend meetings and conferences; frequently listening to and talking with students, faculty and other staff members either in person or by telephone; frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, and mouse.
