City of SeaTac is Hiring an Urban Forester - Part-Time Near SeaTac Maintenance Facility; SeaTac, WA
Under the direction of the Deputy Parks & Recreation Director, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for the coordination of contractors, volunteers, employees, and management of resources for urban forest management. The work involves tree inspections, risk analysis, tree removal and replacement; plan, direct, and administer urban forest operations and services; supervise contractors; negotiate and administer contracts; develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and assist with management and oversight of projects within urban forests, natural resource areas, and rights-of-way.

- Bachelor’s degree in urban forestry, Natural Resource Management, Forest Resource Management, or related field.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible related experience.
- At least three years of experience specific to grant and volunteer management and management of critical areas, including wetlands and natural habitat restoration.
OR
- A combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the job.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License. A three-year driving abstract must be submitted prior to hire.
- Successful applicants must pass a physical capacity test and a physical examination.
Preferred:
- Certified Forester or ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborist, preferred.
