HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSIONThe Research Associate I performs assigned laboratory, wildlife/plant care, field duties and/or training initiatives in support of a variety of research, endangered species propagation, and/or community initiatives. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Community Engagement team at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance (SDZWA) seeks a part-time Research Associate I to support the SDZWA Native Biodiversity Corps program (NBC) in Summer 2024 (June 10-August 23). The NBC program engages urban high school students from high schools in San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) with nature-based learning experiences and the design and implementation of native wildlife gardens in order to attract and support local wildlife, combat impacts of regional climate change, promote regional pride, and build more resilient communities. Ideal candidates will have experience working with high school students in formal and/or informal science education settings and knowledge of, and interest in, the native biodiversity and ecosystems of San Diego County. This position will work alongside full-time, permanent NBC team members.
