Position Summary
The Environmental Stewardship Fund (ESF) Fellow will be tasked to support programs launching in the summer of 2024. The Fellow will work to build a strong relationship with the Ramapough Lunaape Turtle Clan as well as with local youth organizationsto build a deeper and more meaningful connection to the projects and land that the Musconetcong Watershed Association serves. The Fellow will also rove to Munsee 3 Sisters Farms as well as Essex County Parks. Supporting programs with local partners to assist in projects outlined at those sites. The Fellow will also serve as the go-between for site partners and SCA Staff to organize scheduling and logistics for projects, volunteer days, and educational days.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assistance with MWA tree plantings on Educational Trail - Basic trail maintenance tasks - Trimming invasive species - Identifying fallen trees, issues with trail stability, and other hazards - Support Partner Grounds Steward and Community Engagement Coordinator with planning trail improvement projects, such as bridge construction, trail stabilization, and sign installation. - Assist with development of interpretive plan for Asbury Mill (contingent on Fellow's knowledge of/ability to research history of Indigenous peoples of northwest NJ - SupportMWA Community Engagement Coordinator in planning, preparing, and leading tree planting on Educational Trail - Support MWA Grounds Steward and Community Engagement Coordinator to complete remaining trail improvement projects - Support regular trail maintenance tasks - Support incorporation of Ramapough Lunaape elements into Educational Trail, such as stone cairn at the trail head at MWA - Work with SCA/MWA Staff on volunteer days and community engagement at MWA - Establish connections with Munsee 3 Sisters Farm/Chief Mann - Continue to build corps network to support programs at MWA - Hands on work with Chief Vincent Mann (Of the Ramapough Lunaape Turtle Clan) at Munsee 3 Sisters Farms - Assist in coordinating volunteer events and Service days at Munsee 3 Sisters Farms with SCA Crews - Work with leader and site partners at the Fedcap School to assist in hands-on projects at Essex County Parks
Marginal Duties
- Assist in Project Data collection at all sites. - Support administrative needs of partner and SCA Leader
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 - WFA Certification - Ability to drive personal vehicle to each location (Sometimes an hour in distance)

$20/Hr for 40 hrs/wk $50 Weekly Commuting Stipend $200 Travel Allowance to/from training
