City of Maricopa is Hiring a Public Safety Application Analyst Near Maricopa, AZ

General Summary

The Public Safety Application Analyst reports to the Public Safety Administrative Support Manager and is responsible for supporting and optimizing technology applications used in public safety department. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of software solutions critical to emergency response, law enforcement, and public safety operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  • Manage the lifecycle of public safety applications, including Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), ImageTrend, Continuum, and other relevant software applications.
  • Configure, customize, and maintain application settings based on user needs and agency requirements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, assisting them with application usage, troubleshooting problems, and addressing queries.
  • Deliver training and workshops to ensure that public safety personnel understand and utilize applications effectively.
  • Collaborate with public safety agencies and stakeholders to gather and document software requirements.
  • Translate user needs into functional specifications that guide software configuration and customization.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate software functionality, performance, and integration with other systems.
  • Identify and report defects, working closely with Information Technology Department, vendors, and development teams to facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Propose enhancements to existing applications based on user feedback and emerging technological trends.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of application configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Keep track of changes, updates, and user manuals for future reference.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Preferred Entrance Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with public safety software applications.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license.

  • Manage projects, set timelines, facilitate testing, and collaborate with teammates to ensure successful implementation.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices.
  • Provide excellent customer services to users of applications and address concerns and issues.
  • Demonstrate security best practices, access control, and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to application users.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail to ensure configuration and customization of applications is accurate.
  • Identify and gather feedback to explore challenges and enhancements within application.

Physical Demands & Environmental Characteristics

The position is generally sedentary. The job requires prolonged periods of sitting, working on a computer, and performing administrative duties in an office environment. The person in this role may need to attend meetings or travel to other locations, which may require standing, walking, or driving for short periods of time. However, there is no requirement for significant physical exertion or demanding physical activity, and the position does not involve routine exposure to hazardous conditions or situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,073.00 - $84,521.50 per year
