Description

Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA), founded in 1975, is one of 57 federally designated Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) in the United States. TOSA is committed to a mission of saving lives through the power of organ donation by providing organ donation and recovery services to Central and South Texans wishing to donate, and to those waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Recognized as a Top Employer, TOSA has staff members in Austin, San Antonio, and McAllen.

JOB SUMMARY: The position is responsible for overseeing the entire spectrum of data analysis operations, ensuring efficiency and strategic alignment. This includes the mapping of database use of mathematical and analytical methods to transform the data into useful information for data-driven decision making and change for improvement. The position coordinates and conducts data collection and analysis for the organization for quality improvement and regulatory requirements. The position will be part of assuring the appropriate data is collected and analyzed to best understand performance with organ donor potential and related donor activity. The DDA is responsible for report-writing, database maintenance and data validation. In addition will assist, by virtue of the data analyzed and in conjunction with management, potential educational initiatives for client hospitals. The position will have access to confidential material and is required to use discretion with this information while strictly adhering to TOSA’s confidentiality policies and procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE: The Director of Data Analytics position is a full-time position. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The employee may occasionally have to work evenings or weekends, as needed.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Manages the operations of the data analytic process comprising of database mapping to analyzing data for data-driven change and improvement.
  • Creates and enhances reports through TOSA’s report-writing systems based on departmental and organizational needs.
  • Shares data as appropriate for knowledge-sharing and strategic development based on analytic findings.
  • Performs predictive analysis to best project organizational performance.
  • Maintains and updates TOSA’s report-writing systems for compliance, validation, and appropriateness.
  • Developing and implementing data collecting strategies.
  • Extracting and organizing raw data.
  • Using report-writing and business intelligent systems
  • Sets parameters to disqualify non-usable data.
  • Analyzes and interprets data using statistical modeling software.
  • Assists with the interpretation and use of extracted data.
  • Evaluates the success of business decisions based on data trends.
  • Analyzes information relative to the organization’s and donation partners’ compliance.
  • Works with departmental leads to benchmark and project departmental performance.
  • Effectively shares and communicates data using the appropriate visualization tools and presentation skills.
  • Identifies errors with TOSA’s designated call center and assists with follow-up.
  • Works with the Information Systems department for continuous improvement to TOSA’s databases including the donor management system and quality management system.
  • Creates and updates required data reports to TOSA management and regulatory entities, as assigned.
  • Prepares documentation pertaining to the data requirements of the organization, to include formal standardized report writing and special projects as assigned.
  • Alerts the Information Systems department for issues related to database management.
  • Supports the organization’s efforts to meet compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and applies skills pertaining to computer technology, data management, documentation, and flow of information.
  • Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Communicates effectively with organizational staff and external client organizations.
  • Maintains integrity of all medical records through compliance and enforcement of TOSA policy and procedure on confidentiality.
  • Stays up to date with the latest trends and technologies for data extraction and analysis.
  • Supports Quality Services and the Information Systems department through specific and general assignments dealing with information processing.
  • Develops and maintains positive and effective working relationships with internal staff as well as representatives of external entities as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master of Science in Business Analytics or related field preferred, knowledge of medical terminology, information technology, and working knowledge of database development.
  2. Minimum of five years prior relevant work experience preferably in healthcare with PowerBI, Sisense, and Crystal report writing.
  3. Three or more years of supervisory/management experience.
  4. Advanced mathematical skills.
  5. Experience with data visualization tools.
  6. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  7. Ability to learn, adapt, and apply information technology skills on an ongoing basis.
  8. Ability to utilize teamwork, analytical problem solving, and organizational skills.
  9. Strong communication skills.
  10. Must have a valid driver’s license.
  11. Physical requirements include the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
